Questions the Desk Hears Every Week

Answered the way we would answer them on the phone, which is to say without a sales angle attached.

What does delivered loft mean, in one sentence?

It is the angle your clubface is actually pointing at the moment the ball leaves it, which is almost never the number stamped on the sole because the shaft bends and your hands arrive somewhere the manufacturer did not assume.

Do I need to bring my own clubs?

Yes, and preferably all of them. The first thing we do is establish what your current equipment delivers, because a recommendation without a baseline is just an opinion. If your clubs are genuinely unusable we can work around it, but the session is weaker for it.

How long does a fitting take?

A single club runs about seventy-five minutes. An iron set is roughly two hours. A full bag review is three and a half and we do not book two of those in the same morning. Putter sessions are an hour on the indoor surface.

Am I obliged to buy clubs from you afterward?

No. You pay the session fee and you leave with a spec card listing every measurement and every recommendation. Plenty of people take that card and order elsewhere, which is entirely fine. If you do build with us, the session fee comes off the total.

Will you tell me my clubs are fine if they are?

Regularly. Several golfers a month book a review, learn that their bag measures within tolerance of what a fitting would produce, and leave having spent the review fee and nothing else. We would rather be the shop that says that than the one that finds a problem worth four hundred dollars every single time.

Why do you keep talking about frequency instead of flex?

Because flex letters are not standardised between manufacturers and frequency is a measurement. We have had shafts stamped with the same letter read more than a full flex step apart once cut and assembled. The letter is a filter, not a specification.

Can you work on clubs I bought somewhere else?

That is most of what we do. Reshafts, regrips, loft and lie adjustments, frequency plots and spec cards are all available on equipment we had nothing to do with selling, at the same rates as anything else.

Do you fit indoors or outdoors?

Both. Bench work and putting are indoors. Ball striking happens in one of two outdoor bays with a doppler unit, because in this climate outdoor numbers are available almost every day and nothing beats seeing the ball actually fly.

Does the Las Vegas altitude really change the recommendation?

Enough to matter. The valley floor is around two thousand feet and the air is dry for most of the year, so a ball carries further and holds slightly less spin than the same strike would at sea level. Where it shows up is descent angle and stopping power, not headline distance.

How far ahead should I book?

A week is typical, two in the spring. Full bag reviews go faster than that because there are only a few slots a week for them. Cancellations do come up, so calling on the day is worth a try.

What if I am new to golf?

Fitting is arguably more useful early, because the alternative is spending two seasons developing compensations for equipment that does not suit you. We keep the session shorter and the recommendations simpler, and we will say plainly if you are better served waiting.

Do you build clubs on site or send them out?

On site, on our own bench, by the same person every time. Assembly, tip trimming, weighting and gripping all happen here, and the finished club is re-measured against its target spec before it goes back to you.

Something Not Covered Here

Call the desk on (702) 555-0184 or send it to [email protected]. Questions about a specific component are usually faster by email, because whoever answers can go and put a caliper on the thing rather than working from memory.

If your question is really “is this worth doing for someone like me”, say so directly. We answer that one honestly and it is sometimes no.
